1. Adjectives (Tính từ) and Adverbs (Trạng từ)
- Tính từ (Adj) bổ nghĩa ch động từ “to be” hoặc danh từ đứng sau.
S + be + Adj / The /A/An + Adj + N
- Trạng từ (Adv) : Bổ nghĩa cho tính từ hoặc động từ thường.
Adv = Adj + ly
VD : extreme (Adj) -> extremely (Adv)
2. Mệnh đề danh từ (that clause)
- Bổ nghĩa cho tính từ
Hoa was extremely pleased that she got an A for her assignment.
Form : Adjective + That Clause
(pleased , sad , excited , sorry , amazed , disappointed , … , or It’s + Adj + That Clause )
3. Conditional sentences – Type 1 (Câu điều kiện loại 1)
Form : If Clause: Simple present (S + V/Vs,es) , Main Clause : Simple Future (will + V)
- Diễn tả sự kiện có thể xảy ra ở tương lai.
4. Making suggestions (Đưa ra lời đề nghị)
- S (chủ từ) + suggest + Ving
- S (chủ từ) + suggest (that) + S (chủ từ) + should + Vo (Động từ nguyên mẫu)
-> Dùng để đề nghị ai làm việc gì đó.
- I think we should + Vo
- Shall we + Vo …?
- Why don’t we + Vo…?
- How about / What about + Ving …?
- Let’s + Vo…
5. Connectives (Từ nối)
- And : và
- So : vì vậy
- Therefore : bởi vậy, cho nên
- But : nhưng
- However : Tuy nhiên, tuy vậy
- Or : hoặc , hay
- Because : Bởi vì
6. Phrasal verb (cụm động từ)
- turn on : bật, mở
- turn off : tắt
- go on : tiếp tục
- look after : chăm sóc
- look for : tìm kiếm
